Coach Jeff's Sporting Lagos has started the season exactly as we would've wanted, with two wins out of two and goals up front. Now we face Abeokuta Stormers at home, looking to make it three from three.

A Perfect Start
We kicked things off with that 3-1 win over Osun United— a team that gave us problems last season. Then came the Lagos derby at Onikan Stadium against First Bank, where we were technically the away side. Kelvin got the goal, Aliyu with the assist, and we took the three points. 1-0.
Kelvin has found the net in both matches, with Aliyu turning provider each time. It's a partnership that's already becoming a familiar sight for Sporting Lagos fans this season.
The Momentum Continues
Every point matters this season. No play-offs means we have to finish top of the group to get automatically promoted. We've started well, and we need to keep it going.
A Special Reunion

If you've been following the club for a while, you'll remember Stormers. Back in 2023, we faced them in the NNL Playoffs in Asaba. It was the game that would decide if we got promoted to the NPFL.
Rivio Ayemwenre scored first for us. Then Stormers got a penalty. Christian saved it. Shortly after, Saturday Okon made it 2-0, and promotion was secured. It was one of those days you don't forget if you're a Sporting Lagos fan.
We haven't faced them since that day. Now they're coming to Lagos, hopefully to be a part of our promotion story again.
What to Expect

The early signs from Coach Jeff's team are exactly what he promised: proactive, front-foot football that makes things happen. Fans are already buzzing about the fluidity and attacking intent on display. It's exciting to watch, and more importantly, it's working.
Coach Jeff Speaks
On two wins back to back: It puts us in a nice mental state. The confidence is there, and playing before everyone else in the round takes some pressure off us.
On the opposition: They're a good team. They won their last game, so they'll come with confidence. They can play football. They're direct, play long balls, and look to attack spaces in behind. We're expecting a competitive game. But we'll play our game. We want to dominate the ball, make fewer mistakes, and be more proactive. Take the game to them.
On whether the squad will get even better: We want more possession and better finishing of our chances. We scored a lot of goals in preseason, and we want to get back to that level.
On the Kelvin and Aliyu partnership: They're building good chemistry because they play next to each other on the pitch now. Before, Kelvin used to play on the flanks, but they're closer now. They're making the right runs off each other and they connect well. It's a good partnership developing.
On what 3 out of 3 wins would mean: It would mean our objectives are clear. We don't want to be chasing anyone—we want to be on top from the start, play on the front foot. Look, it's still November and the season is long, but it means we're doing what we need to do and doing it right.
