We are beyond excited to announce that we have made our first ever international sale, Mukhtar Adamu joining Norwegian side, Odds Ballklubb on a long-term contract.
This move, happening just around our 3-year anniversary, is an incredible milestone for our club.
Mukhtar is a product of our academy system. He was one of the first ever players we recruited when we launched the Academy in 2023, and we’ve watched him grow as a player and a person in the past two seasons. Just before his transfer this season, he made his first appearance for the senior team.
Before his transfer, the defensive midfielder played two seasons of The Creative Championship (TCC League) with the Sporting Lagos Academy, and was voted as the best defensive midfielder in the league for the 23/24 season. This was a testament of his immense contribution to the team’s impressive run in the league and cup, where they finished as runners up.

He was also the Academy’s captain. Mukhtar embodies everything we look for in a player: on-field excellence, discipline off the pitch and a willingness to fight for the badge till the final whistle — a proper Sporting Lagos graduate. Mukhtar was on the radar of many European clubs, as he spent the past few months going on trials. We’re sure Odds Ballklubb is a perfect place for him to develop and shine.
This achievement is a proud moment for us as a Club. It’s proof of our commitment to nurturing talents and seeing those talents shine on a global stage. While we take pride in building a multigenerational football club, we believe this is just the beginning of our journey.
