At the Nigeria National League (NNL) Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was held in Bauchi on Saturday, 28th September 2024, the groupings for the 2024/25 NNL were released. This means we’re set to kick off our fourth campaign as a Club — and our third in the second division.

What is the NNL?

The NNL is the Nigeria National League. It’s the second tier of Nigerian football, where teams play to earn promotion to the NPFL. Remember the fairytale story of our promotion? That was from the NNL to the NPFL. 

When Does the 2024/25 NNL Start?

According to the AGM, the NNL kicks off on the weekend of November 30th, 2024. Fixtures are still being compiled, but this means in about 10 weeks, we’ll be back in front of our beautiful fans, playing week-in, week-out. And we cannot wait. 

How Does the NNL Work?

There are 36 teams this season, split into two major groups based on geography — the Southern Conference and the Northern Conference. Those two groups are now split into two each, which makes four groups of nine teams each.

Each team will play home and away matches against every other team in their group. The top two teams in each group will advance to the playoffs, where they’ll fight for promotion to the NPFL. It’s straightforward, but the road to the top is anything but easy.

Subject to confirmation from the NNL, our home games are set to take place at our beloved Onikan Stadium. It’s where we’ve felt your support for the past two seasons, and we can’t wait to feel that energy again.
